My name is Jessyka Richard and I’m from Second Life. Regardless of what anyone says, including myself, it’s the best virtual world that exists right now.
In 2005, I made an account and verified with PayPal. As it turned out, my graphics card wasn’t good enough to even log in, so I deleted my account, unlinked it from PayPal and uninstalled the client.
Several months later, my brother got into Second Life and I would watch over his shoulder, wondering if I’d ever make it back. A few years later, I was living on my own and purchased a new computer. I thought to look back into Second Life and found that my account never got deleted. I recovered my password and logged in. My brother helped me out for the first few days before I started on my own.
I’ve tried to find my place in the metaverse for over a year now, and even though my rez date is in 2005, I consider my real rez date sometime in February of 2008 (I have no problem being grandfathered into 50L a week though!).
As far as my place, I haven’t exactly found it yet. I have friends on both ends of the social ladder with a bunch of different skill sets, but I’m stuck in the middle. I’m not great at building and I don’t want to compromise who I am to be a model. My strengths are in scripting, freebie hunting and doing things for teh lulz, but I haven’t been able to get my foot into any particular door. My hope for the future is to own a TV show in world, but that project is in infant stages right now.
